I just wanted to write to thank you, joining the drawing league has really broken me out of my fear of drawing again, and I feel so excited to be doing this and to be learning from you. You have sparked my creativity and I already see a difference in my drawing from the first time I attempted River (which I didn't even finish). I'm not done yet but I am eager to finish. I made some mistakes and I noticed that instead of giving up, this time I felt more inspired to keep going to learn from those mistakes.

Dirk not only taught me the techniques, but also motivated and helped me understand what I was drawing, instead of being limited to the photo itself. After a while, I recognised that this is one of many other things Dirk teaches, that is extremely important to know and hard to learn by yourself.
After 2 years in the course, I´ve accomplished many things, like having a drawing featured in an art magazine and selling 2 of 3 artworks to art collectors. This, actually, happened pretty fast and I think this would never have been possible without the program.

There’s something magical about having someone so highly accomplished in the field giving you direct, personal attention. I can always count on Dirk to be honest and straightforward with me, qualities I greatly value, so I know that I can trust his judgment and allow my inner voice to emerge. Even though I haven’t yet reached the professional level of some of his other students, I’m excited about the future and where my art is going.
