CURRICULUM

A Structured Path to Mastery

The DRAMA curriculum is built around the Dzimirsky Drawing Method - a structured learning system developed to help artists build the skills required for convincing hyperrealistic drawing.

Rather than teaching isolated techniques or unrelated projects, the curriculum follows a carefully sequenced progression. Every lesson prepares you for the next, allowing you to develop one skill at a time before combining it with the next.

Whether you're just beginning your artistic journey or looking to refine existing skills, the curriculum provides a clear path forward.

THE FOUR LEVELS

Level 1 - Foundation

Build complete control over your drawing materials and develop the technical skills that every later class depends on.
You'll learn the fundamentals of shading, blending, tonal values, gradients, texture and form through carefully designed exercises that establish precision and consistency.

Level 2 - The Sculptural Approach

Learn to see and draw three-dimensional form instead of simply copying a photograph.
This level introduces one of the core principles of the Dzimirsky Drawing Method: understanding how light describes form and using that knowledge to create convincing realism.

Level 3 - Portrait Drawing

Apply everything you've learned to realistic portrait drawing.
As your technical control and understanding of form continue to grow, you'll learn how to construct convincing portraits with greater confidence, accuracy and artistic interpretation.

Level 4 - Mastery

Develop independence as an artist.
At this stage, the individual techniques you've learned begin working together naturally, allowing you to create increasingly complex and expressive artworks while refining your own artistic voice.

More Than Video Lessons

The curriculum is supported by assignments, personal feedback, Study Classes and an active student community.
Learning at DRAMA isn't measured by the number of lessons you watch, but by the skills you develop and your ability to apply them consistently.

Designed for Long-Term Growth

Real artistic development takes time.
The curriculum is designed to be studied over many months, allowing each new skill to become a natural part of your drawing process before moving on to the next.
This step-by-step approach is what enables students to build lasting confidence and create consistently strong work.
